It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

     This week we decorated our tree and put up our Gingerbread House.  This will be used for our pictures.  It's rumored that our elf might arrive this week. We'll keep you posted.

Farm Animal Report Freebie

Here is the Farm Animal Report the students had to complete along with their animal that they decorated. The letter I sent home is also included.  I am also putting the torn paper owl project template available to download.  I shared this a few weeks ago.

Harvest Festival

We just finished our unit on the Farm. We spent two weeks learning about the animals on the farm, making butter, and doing various art projects.  We ended our unit by going on a field trip to Brookshire's, CiCi's Pizza, and a neighbor's farm.  On Friday, we had a Harvest Festival as a celebration.  Everyone dressed up like a farmer, cowboy, cowgirl, scarecrow, or farm animal.  It was a lot of fun, but I was pooped.

Field Trip to Chimp Haven

On Friday we went to Chimp Haven.  It is essentially a retirement home for chimpanzees.  Some were in the movies, some were used in labs, and some were simply rescued from mistreatment.  They are all living the good life now at Chimp Haven.

We got to ride on a trailer for a "behind the scenes" tour of the facilities.  We were able to see the chimpanzees up close.  They were fascinating.
